Online process monitoring and traceability 

The two most important specifications for a weld seam: the weld must be tight and secure. Both of these requirements are already monitored during the welding process with LPKF’s online process tracking system:

• deviations from the set values are immediately detected during the welding process
• reduces the costs for post-production component inspection
• issues warnings about variations in material properties or geometrical anomalies 

Online process tracking also creates documentation on the actual production parameters. This guarantees traceability: 

• a two-dimensional DataMatrix code identifies each welded product
• all processing parameters are forwarded from the laser welding system to a data acquisition device (e.g. PC) (Tracking & Tracing)
• compares product manufacturing data with the process qualification values
