Reflection Diagnosis
The patented reflection diagnosis method used in laser plastic welding is based on the boundary reflection of incoming light from a test beam. Perfectly welded horizons have one boundary fewer than unwelded sections, i.e. have a lower signal strength. A gap in the weld seam produces a peak.

Reflection Diagnosis - Scheme
Reflection diagnosis is particularly good for materials used in car lights for instance. The hybrid welding method is perfect here for joining large three-dimensional components in one step. Such welding systems use this diagnosis technique to control the processing parameters. Reflection diagnosis can usually be combined with other methods such as quasi-simultaneous welding and contour welding.
